In 1916, James Crisp started up his entrepreneurial roots in Dunedin, New Zealand's South Island. The subsequent decades witnessed James Crisp Limited, the trading name, thriving amid New Zealand's economic expansion. John Hall, James Crisp’s nephew returned from the Services after World War 2. After several years of establishing himself as a broker within the Wholesale Foodstuffs Grocery industry, joined his “Uncle Jim” in 1957 and eventually took over the business after Mr Crisp’s retirement.
Succession years followed. In 1987 and 1992, Richard and Henry Hall, sons of John Hall the nephew of James Crisp, joined the company, bringing fresh perspectives. As joint directors and shareholders, their inspirational approach has propelled James Crisp to new heights, marking over 100 years of enduring success.
